A parallel plate capacitor is being charged by a steady current. Read the Assertion (A) and Reason (R) and choose the correct option.

  • Assertion (A): A magnetic field exists in the region between the plates, even though no charge flows across the gap.
  • Reason (R): The electric flux between the plates is changing, and a changing electric flux produces a magnetic field just as a conduction current does.
